About

I am a firm believer that gender injustice  is the result of  a social order that tries to control the sexuality of women (and at times men), a.k.a the patriarchy.   Real freedom starts at the door of your vagina and moves on to the womb…and then every other sphere of action.

I am  a law school graduate in DC (Class of 2010), with a background in anthropology, literature and  Jewish studies. I grew up with secular parents and practiced (and later rejected Orthodox Judaism), and currently practice an egalitarian form of Judaism.

I am a mom to a baby girl (a baby formerly known as “Z”).  I tried for a home birth, ans ended up in with a c-section.  It sucked, but not as much as the I have come to believe after reading a whole bunch of birth blogs to many.

Found you through your link to Diary of a Fat Teenager, and I’ve added you to my bookmarks. :) I’m Julia, 23, a Jewish woman entering the publishing industry and personally working through issues of body acceptance in my blog posts. I think we might get along. :)
